A woman was raped in Maywood over the weekend in an incident that occurred after a string of recent home invasions and sexual assaults in the area, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in a public safety announcement on Tuesday.  
In the public safety announcement, the department also included a sketch and description of an intruder wanted in connection with a series of incidents that occurred in Maywood since early October. 5 and Nov. 12, each crime occurring in the early morning hours, the department said.
